8/11/11 and 8/12/11

Today was presentations, and yes, I know I am doing it late, but still I wish to have a post up even if it will not be counted or anything. I shall miss doing this blog. I hope to keep in touch with everyone^^ Today was a day of review, I've noticed that even though I am learning, I still know so little on actually understanding stuff....Though it makes me more determined to work harder in my studies...I need to start speaking out loud instead of just all writing, and I need to slowly study 1 or 2 things a day, cramming although it is good for a one day thing, it isn't good for a lifetime of knowing. I've had a lot of fun, and everyone is doing so well with their Japanese, I'm Jealous, but also happy, for when we all are fluent, because I bet that someday we all will be, we can talk, and other people will be like (Damn their cool!) but I digress, I will never forget this summer, nor my classmates/friends. Until next time!じゃまったね!!

The Final has come! I am doing a two in one blog!! Today thing started well, and during the test I've come across times where old knowlage helped me with my new knowlage. I've come far, and I can tell that both キャットさん と マリアさん have come far and I wish you both as well as カイレさん the best! Please keep in touch みんなで!!

8/10/11

Hello!!! Today, boy has it been a day!! Finished everything for both the Project and the Extra Credit^^ I hope everyone will like it, printed out the word bank and checked the PDF. Today we've learned two new grammar points, one with how you Intend to do something, and the other is to Become something. You could even combind them as well!! Today I am getting sleepy, but we got snacks so I won't be getting all bla in the middle of class as I have been the last two to three days...Today was our final quiz and I'm glad I finished it with a good grade. I am going over all that I have learned from before the Midterm, then tomorrow review That and review the stuff from After the midterm. I can't mess around tomorrow....Though the walk I did today helped clear my mind a bit. I know that this is a quick vlog, tomorrow's is the last one....I think I will do a Heart felt speech! ( Cletches fist and looks up at the sky dramaticly) Yes, maybe I shall do that. I am going to miss 日本語クラス。I shall see you all tomorrow!! じゃまったね!!

こんいちは!!みんあだいじょうぶですかでした。

Hello!! I am having a good day, today was another quiz day with a new grammar point and 4 new kanji!! Projects are almost due and soon the Final...こわい!I am nervous, but i also know that thankfully, even if I do my best and end up doing badly, it won't be that I didn't do my best, but also, it won't be determining if I become a Junior this year either....So I just must review and relax! Review and Relax....Today for our grammar point, we learned a new use for の as it is already own as a possessor and a particle which connects two nouns, but now it can be used to Replace a noun! When speaking about the same thing, but maybe in a different subject or saying that it isn't your own, but someone else's, etc, you can replace the noun with (no) so you do not have to Continue repeating the same object Over and Over again. It helps the tongue and the brain I believe!!^^ I've done all of my homework, and luckly, yesterday I also learned the Verbs along with the Nouns so I can rest easy tonight^^ Been listening to the CD as well. The 1st CD has just Vocab and Dialog, so I am going to try the second one out, maybe That has the grammar?? I shall be hitting the hay soon though, ねむいです。じゃまったね!!

8/8/11

Today was certainly an interesting and fun day^^ We've learned how to compare, which thankfully doesn't require any congegation or anything like that, you just have to have this :

A( と) B(と) のほうが(Property)? = This is asking which is better or slower or whatever the property is.

A( のほんが) B(より ) (Property) = This is the answer for the first example up there.

The rest go in a similar pattern in which we learn to be able to list off what we like and don't like, and which is the best or the worst of something. Giving opinions is fun!^^ Anyways, the rest of the class was going over this grammar point, and learning our vocab for the chapter, the nouns and adjectives, along with having our quiz. The last week is upon us!! I am going to miss everyone!!

8/5/11

Hello!! I forgotten to do this, but Friday I just went Burrb, lol. Anyways, in class we really didn't have that much to do but do our kanji, I believe learn one new grammar point, a quiz and then evaluations.....If not then well...Ummmmm....It was fun!! I will be writing the next blog which will be much better than this! Promise!!

8/4/11

こんいちは!!だいじょうぶみんなですか。Today was a fairly calm day, although tomorrow there is a quiz and I have to do makeup tomorrow as well. Today I am almost done with my rough draft!! Just 1 and a 1/2 more lines to go! Though I might have to go over. Today in class we went over one grammar point which is a bit of an extension of Kara(because) which makes things a lot smoother with speaking and writing I believe. Sense that is just how we speak nowadays. Other than that we went over the last of the Lesson 9 Kanji!! Yatta!! I am a bit tired, visited the doctor, and thankfully I do not have an infection, but he believes I have regained my motion sickness...Bla. I am going to study and then sleep earily, I cannot afford to study in the car like I have been doing due to this late problem I've been having. I do so much better cramming, though studying the night before helps me the most and then refreshing myself in the morning. I shall finish my draft, then eat, then study study study!! Thankfully we do not have many grammar points which are going to be covered in the test, but still....Best to be prepared. じゃまったね!!

こんいちはみんな!!Today was a rather nice day although I am still sick. Ashita I am going to the doctor to see what might be wrong. Thank Kami we do not have a quiz, because I usually study at night and then on the ride over to school, and well, today wasn't such a good day to be doing that. I was contemplating on weather I should force myself to "upchug" or not in the bathroom. But other than that, as soon as class started, my mood changed and I felt very happy to be there! I would also say that i felt much better although we had a quiz. I know i didn't do too well, but I did my best. Today we've learned a new grammar point, well two. Once which is on how you can ask someone if they had done something as of (yet) with もう as well as being able to answer it positivily or negatively, meaning that you have or have not done 何何〜 For negative you have まだ〜(action/verb/noun Whatever it is you didn't do) ていません。After that we've learned 4 new kanji and went over a bit about what will be happening for the rest of the week and next week....I cannot believe next week is the last week! Too soon! Well, I am going to go to sleeps, I had finished the workbook homework and had taken a shower so I am well relaxed...じゃまったね!!

こんいちはみんな!!だいじょうぶですか、元気ですか。

I feel bad for missing this class, but thankfully I am indeed feeling better, just have these EVIL ant bites from the trip, they itch like じごく!!!Anyways, I am learning what I have missed, Though I am not sure that I had done it right.....Though it does make for longer sentenses!! Which is a good thing^^ I am happy to be getting used to typing, I have read the rules to the box paper and Man it has many rules!! Though I should get through it fairly easily because of it, lol. Anyways, I am going to be going to sleeps soon, I will see everyone tomorrow!! じゃまったね!!

コんいちはみんな!!だいじょうぶですか。私はたのしいがともだちです。

I still feel bad for leaving early today, I still feel sick and well, I would be in bed by now if I hadn't gotten home so late...Damned traffic was killer! 10 at night and they have contruction going on and close down two out of three lanes! Anyways, in class we learned a new grammar point which I shall issustrate soon, it is the short form, but with the Past instead of the Present. It isn't so hard, there is just the fact that you have to remember more rules for the short form....Thankfully for Negative Past it is all basicly (katta) at the end of it. Well, I am going to sleeps, I hope to feel better tomorrow and to see everyone bright and early for 日本語クラス!じゃまったね!!

7/29/11

こんにちは!!It has been a LONG weekend so this will be short, but Friday was basicly a review type of day, going over our vocab as well as doing our skit! I believe キャットさんとカイルさんはかこいいです!With the skit^^ I hope I didn't mess up too badly. I also cannot wait to see マリアさん skit!! I bet it will be very cute^^ I've gone over the Kanji, and I will go over it again before I go to sleeps, but right now I just need to rest...7 hours of driving, whew, it's not like what Maria did, but yeah, it's been a long long weekend. じゃまったね!!

7/28/11

こんいちはみんなで!!Today was a very good day in class^^ Though I have been lathargic lately, my brain is a bit bleh, thankfully things still are sticking^^ I've made the plan that next semester when I am in California to study one grammar/lesson a week, maybe two, but nothing more, as well as write down ten or so vocab every few days over and over again. So that everything that I already knew, will stick. Today we've learned two new grammar points, one on how to say " Please do not..." as well as how to say you are good at something, or bad, and even if you really like something or hate it.

To say that you are bad at something you do this :

(Subject/Person) は ( Action/Verb turned into Noun) のが or が ( へたです。)

Same format for if you wished to write about something you like, or something someone is good at, etc.

Also, now with saying Please Do Not, it is just like Please Do This, just add ないでください。

Class as always is super fun! Got my midterms and quizes (sp) back, and I did Really well on the quizes, but bleh on the Midterm, though it Still is passing, and almost a B, It was the same with my last final, it wasn't that good as i wished it to be, but I myself am bad with Big tests. Normal tests i am fine, but Big tests I just go bla on...But I've read over the test and I know I made stupid mistakes, but I will use this to help myself and learn from my mistakes. I'm sore and tired, got blood taken from me and it's that Time again....I shall be resting, and tonight I will go over my lines, finished the workbook homework and guess what? no Quiz tomorrow!! Yatta! Though Right after class mom and I are headed to Chicago. I will be back before Monday class^^ So I won't miss anything Yay!^^ じゃまったね!!

7/27/11

Hello!! Today, is a Good day! I finished ALL of my make up work/tests for the Midterm and the Kanji quiz that was on Monday, as well as do sorta well on my Quiz which was assigned today^^ no homework, only one grammar point was told to us today, all is good. Though this might be the last break we have for the rest of the session, so I am taking it! I am planning on playing the CD once more tonight, see if it will work over a period of time or something. 金曜日 is the day we all do our skits, well, キャットさんとカイレさんと私 are together I think our skit will certain be something! Though I am curious as to what マリアさん has for her skit, she seems to come up with very good ideas! Well, I am doing some more drawing, going to study after I get up from my nap and then relax for there is no Test tomorrow! やった!!The tests aren't that bad, I just tend to stress over them. The grammar point we went over today was on 「何か」と「何も」

Nanika (なにか) = in a question means (Anything)

Nanika (なにか) = Regularly means (Something)

Nanimo (なにも) = Is Negative

Well, today was fun as always and we've had a lot of laughs^^ I shall see you all tomorrow!! じゃまったね!!

7/26/11

今日はおもしろいです!!Today in class we've went over two new grammar points along with the rest of the volcab for Chapter 8! As for the grammar points, we've learned how to quote someone as well as to write what we thing as in "I think..." " I don't think..." I think is とおもいます and it is at the END of the sentence.

Subject + What the such and such thinks of ( Verbs, Nouns, and Adjectives are put in the dictanary form) + とおもいます。

For Quoting you ( Person you are quoting) + What they said ( Verbs etc are put in Short form) + といっていました。Mashita Has to be there!! Sense it is of what someone had SAID!!

Other than that, we've gone over our newest Kanji and tomorrow I think is gonna be a good day..A black cat crossed my mom and I's path, but we are backwards with that sorta thing^^

I am going to try listening to the tapes in my sleep...I wonder it it will work... じゃまったね!!

7/25/11

I know that I've missed class today, but I shall post a blog entry as such^^ I've been doing the homework and well, I am a bit confused with page 65 and what we are suppose to do....Although it is a shorter form for the verbs, it is a bit confusing...I shall do my best, but I cannot make any promises on it's um....Correctness, lol. I am also gonna study for the Volcab quiz today, and refresh myself with the Kanji, as for the Interview, thankfully I can grasp a bit on understanding and answering as I have practiced with myself, and have come up with answers for almost all of them. Grammer accurate so long as I correct myself. I shall go over more volcab again to broaden my words for answering, lol. Though I do not know when I will be doing them, I am preparing. 母 is feeling better thankfully, it seems to have been just a one day thing. So I shall be in class tomorrow with questions on this new form!! Thank you again マリアさん for giving Betsy 先生 my message!! じゃまったね!!

7/22/11

It was Midterms and Man I am so glad I don't get a counted grade in this, but because of that, I feel that I was able to think clearer. It wasn't as hard as I though it would be, although challenging to say the least. I defintly had to use my head. I am nervous about the oral part, but thankfully I am understanding more and going over the questions in the book has helped a lot. I hope I didn't do too badly on the Midterm, I did my best though and mad sure not to second guess myself....A lot. Well, I am going to have a good nights sleep, tomorrow is the Kanji quiz!! じゃまったね!!

7/21/11

Hello!! Today boy was it hot!! Though I know this is a bit late, I finally finished the letter, and the minutes as well as my newest picture! Now to study study study, I am going to relax and Not freak out, that is the worst thing that I could do. Now, we've learned yet another grammar point which is the Verb Stem + にいく, this is a way to write/speak about the Destination of Movement. It's basicly a way to say where your going and what purpose it is you are going there for.

Destination ( に、へ) The purpose of Movement (に)(いく、くる、かえる) Now with this, the Most important rule is that for the Purpose, the verb must be in the form which you use to turn it to (masu, masen, etc) but you leave it at that!! You do not add anything else but the Ni and either if your Going, Coming, or Returning.

Other than that, we went over review, it had been helpful going over it all again. I'm also glad that I am doing the interview on Monday, just a little less on my shoulders at the moment. Tomorrow also, me and Hahaue is going to the movies!! Yatta!! I know everyone will do well on their test! Though I am glad i won't be having an effected grade, but still, I want to do my best!! Well, I am off to study!! じゃっまったね!!

7/20/11

こんいちは!!Today is a hot day, and tomorrow is suppose to be even worse! Bleh...But thankfully the classroom is fairly nice and cool^^ Though still I along with everyone else needs to drink water!! 水、水、水!! Now today, we've learned yet ANOTHER Te form grammar point. I am starting to get them a bit confused with one another, that is what I really need to practice with, that and the old volcabulary. Now with the Te form today, we've learned basicly how to connect two nowns together, a lot like with connecting two verbs, just for the first one put it in Te form, and then the ending is the same as any other normal tense sentence with masu, masen, mashita, masendeshita. With the Irregular one for To Get Married, that one is giving me troubles because I just don't know which is appropriate to put at the end of it. Hopefully I can get it soon.We are already almost done with lesson 7's Kanji!! That too I need to study more, I am nervous about the midterm...Though I am glad that I will have the weekend to study for the interview. I do a lot better with as less stress on myself as possible, for tests that is. Anyways, class was again fun, マリアさん and I grouped up and it was really funny how we discribed our " Older Sister" though we both do not have any, lol^^ Thankfully Kat seems to be feeling better! She was here yesterday and today so hopefully all is well. Well, today I am going to rest a bit, for some reason I am extra tired today....Hopefully it won't get too hot tomorrow!! I am going to start writing my letter!! We are now capable of doing such a thing and I am excited!! じゃまったね!!

7/19/11

Hello!!! I am home and cooking my mom a special yummy lunch^^ I believe that homemade is always the best, even though I get a bit lazy and would just microwave food a lot. Now, today we've had another quiz which I am pretty confident in! Though after the quiz the volcab tends to sometimes fly out the window, but still. I've noticed that now with certain words i do not have to think about it before just answering it! That meaning that I know without thinking of it, that 先生 is Teacher, or Master, or Doctor no matter what, it is just automatic. That is happening with other words as well which my 母 says means that I am begining to be able to read/understand the language. I'm guessing she means more properly, or that it is sticking.

Now with the lesson for today, we've learned a new grammar lesson which helps us out with speaking/writing about people doing actions, or when someone had become something, like they are now married when they weren't before, as well as to discribe people clearer than before.

This is what I've done to make it a bit easier to know what to put.

ています:Is happening at that moment/Are doing at that moment
ていません:Is Not happening at that moment/ Are Not doing at that moment
ていました:Was doing/ Were doing
ていませんでした:Was Not doing/ Weren't doing
(This really only applies to when you speaking about an action (ing).)

It is also used for a Continuous state with (ある、いる).

Really it is another thing where you just have to know the Te form in order to use it properly. Thankfully it is sorta sticking in my mind, I must refresh myself after my nap. I was just very tired today, I don't know why either. But yes, after this nap, I shall watch some stuff with my 母 and then study study study!! Because Betsy 先生 says that she is adding this grammar to the test! こわいい!!The thought of this grammar that is, but I will do my best! じゃまったね!!

7/18/11

Yusuke : ゆすけさんはかつこいいです。ゆすけさんはかみがみじかいです。
Kuwabara : くわばらさんはせがたかいです。くわばらさんはかみがみじはいです。
Kurama : くらまさんはあたまがいいです。くらまさんはめがかこいです!
Hiei : ひえいさんはせがひくいです。ひえいさんはめがこわいいですね!

こんいちは!!Today has been another good day, although the weather has been very Very Hot! Class today was very nice, we took our quiz and gotten two new lessons on grammar, one a counter and the other a way to discribe people. For counting people, it isn't that hard, just need to remember that the first two people when counting are different than how you count over 3 or more people.

1 person = 一人 ひとり
2 people = 二人 ふたり
3 people = さんにん
4 people =よにん
5 people =ごにん
etc..

As for the other lesson as I've said before we've learned how to discribe people.

ex: ひとしさんは(かみ)が(ながい)です。
  person attribrute adj.

During class we've gone over our new volcabulary which thankfully isn't too bad, lots of the words I've known, I'll just have to worry about the い verbs and remember to study the 2 Na verbs we have!! Those tricky tricky Genki people, sneaking them in there, lol^^ Well, I have studying to do, I've been watching the Sailor Moon Abridge series with my おかあさん^^. I hope that Kat-san is feeling better!! じゃまったね!!

7/15/11

Today the day of Harry Potter this certainly has been a crazy day. Though I feel yet again confident in my test!! I guess good comes when you work hard, as today I found out that on my last quiz I've gotten 100% Pon Pon! If that is the sound for it anyways, lol. Today we've learned a lot of grammar along with directions, more so how to explain how to go straight, turn a corner right or left, and even to go straight. This helping us with one of our grammar lessons of the day which is how to continue a sentence with more than one verb! Then after that we went over how to give a reason. Give a situation and than give the reason as to why the situation is happening. It's fairly easy, just like with adding か at the end to make a question, you add から in order for it to be Because of something. Finally we went over how to offer your help to someone, or offer to do something for someone which is the same as (Lets Do ~) it is (Shall I Do ~) Instead of just ましょう、 you put a か at the end to make it into a question. I've also learned helpful things which even though they don't make sense, it is good to remember. Such as you use が for あり と りる。And you use な on to modify a noun!! I am now going to finish watching this Anime, then nap, than study some Kanji, I figure doing a few at a time will be best for me sense I sometimes still don't get ho one Kanji can have so many different sounds and why... Just have to remember them. I hope everyone will have a great weekend!! じゃまったね!!

7/14/11

こんいちは!!Today in class we've done our quiz which I am confident in this time! The last quiz I got a 29/30 which I am quite proud of. Today we've learned of some new grammar with the Te form, more so making sentences a bit easier and more or less adult like instead of the simple (I) (Noun) (desu), now we can ask for something, may or may we not do something, as well as to Please ask for something. Now, for these, we Must use the TE form, not the Masu, masen, mashita, masendeshita. (ます、ません、ました、ませんでした。)Now with this to ask to Please (do something)? You have (verb) ~てください。When you want to ask to do something you have (verb) ~てもいいですか。 To say that you can do something you have (verb) ~ てもいいです。Then when you want to DENY something, and this is only when you want to deny someone something, or forbid it you do (verb) ~てはいけません。After our grammar lesson we went over the rest of the Kanji for lesson 6!! We have a quiz tomorrow on grammar and then Monday on Kanji. Study Study Study, that is what I am going to be doing after my nap and Harry Potter fix! At the end of class we've finished our Manga which I hope was good. I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I am sure everyone else's are really good as well. Now, I am gonna nap, have to get up at 7 and get ready, I am planning on studying and doing the workbook page while in line, sense I will be there from 9 to 12 today. I need to do Something while waiting, right as well study! じゃまったね!!

7/13/11

Man oh man today was a treat in class! I feel confident on my quiz although I was very nearly late, I might have been by a minute, but thank Kami-sama Betsy 先生 was alright with it! It won't happen again so long as I can help it! Now, I've noticed that still I'm better at knowing the Kanji as to what it means in English, I need to reread them and such. We've gone over the rest of the volcabulary and it isn't that bad, some of the words make sense from before and such and such. I just want to so well on this quiz as well!! 金曜日 is going to be a long day, sense tomorrow I am going to the Harry Potter Midnight showing, but I will be studying our Grammar quiz in line^^ I am going to guess that it is for the て form!! But that is only a guess. Although I am slowly starting to get the Te form, I just have to maintain the Other congegations as well!! For both long form for Verbs and Adjectives. I think what will be challenging is remembering the Kanji in pernouciations. I know most in what they mean, but not how to say them, so I'll need to get up on that horse and remember it! Cannot わすれる!!The big treat I think was to learn of the yon panel manga!! I already have a small story and I can use the character I am making for my own title I am gonna make in the future! It is a good experience I believe, like any other project. Making it more hands on, like writing on the board I believe helps me at least, best. Well, I am gonna take a nap, then get べんきょうする!!じゃまったね!!

7/12/11

こんいちは!だいじょぶですか。Today was the second day of class and boy did we learn some semi confusing stuff! Well, for starters, we've learned of the て form, which like with Verbs and Adjectives, is a congregation. Thankfully for us, it makes verb congregation a little easier, as て form is the shorter form of congregation. Although it isn't a replacement for the tenses.

Ru Verbs: You take out the る and just add て for all of these types of verbs.

Irregular Verbs: I've come up with an easy way to remember how to do these.
- する=> す sushi rolls into し, then you take out the る like with regular Ru verbs and add a て at the end of it. する=して
-くる=> く sushi rolls into き, then you do the same with the Ru as the last time and take it out, and replace it with a て。

U Verbs: (A whole different matter completely!!)
(う、つ、る)
う:あう=あって
つ:まつ=まって
る:とる=とって

(む、ぶ、ぬ)
む:よむ=よんで
ぶ:あそぶ=あそんで
ぬ:しぬ=しんで

(く)
く:かく=かいて
*いく=いって

(ぐ)
ぐ:いそぐ=いそいで (Kinda like Ku but with a De instead of Te)

(す)
す:はなす=はなして

after this strenuous new rule we've gone over our four new Kanji as well as review. The te rule isn't so bad, although I am not sure if it is for present tense or in general? Well, anyways, I am sure I'll know soon enough, I now reconize words I've heard before so it is a big help^^ Now I shall clean up the living room, then study study study for tomorrow's quiz!! じゃまったね!!

7/11/11

Arhhhhhh!! I had Just almost finished my post for today and Firefox decided to Crash......Damn you firefox!! (Shakes fist!) Well, now that I have that out, I shall rewrite what I have already written. Well, today was my first class in Elementary 日本ご 2!! Today we've really just done review, although it really was a bit help. Going through everything has just, refreshed my mind of it, as well as give me a better understanding when told again what it is about and such. Like Yuki Sensei, Betsy Sensei is fun and nice, she makes learning Japanese not seem so intimidating! Which is a good thing. Now, with review, we went over the particles, Lets do~ and Shall we?~ as well as conquring Verb stems and Adjective stems and the tenses. Betsy Sensei explained the Adjective Tenses fairly well for something which is utterly confusing...The only reason I know it somewhat is because of the Irregular verb よかった which comes from いい meaning Good. Though I already knew of it when Yuki Sensei explained it. After that we went over lesson 5's Kanji and four of lesson 6's Kanji. I am starting to remember them not by how they sound or are spoken, but what they mean...Like I know that 中 is (In, Middle) and when I see it I know it, but I think it in English, not Japanese....I guess it is a good way to associate. Other than that class went very smoothly, the spider which came upon us ended up not getting hurt, and all was well with the world^^.

はじみますたバザです。にじょういちさいです。がくせいはさんねせいです。せんもんはアニメションです。たんじょうびはしがつにじょういちにちです。I have 4 cats, as I used to have 5 just recently, but my darling neko Artemis died just recently, the day after my birthday. I am an Animation major in the school California College of the Arts out in Oakland/San Francisco California, but I have a major interest and dream to become a Mangaka. I am taking this class due to my enormous interest in the Japanese culture, as well as for my plans to study abroad next Spring to Kyoto Seika University. My hobbies are reading, drawing, watching Anime(Favorite character Sesshoumaru-sama!!^^)/Youtube Video Game Walkthroughs, videogames, sports, sewing/making cosplays, and basicly having fun. I tend to be okay by myself, but if I have a chance to hang out I'll take it! I also love watching Horror movies, scary things except for spiders, and ghosts. Although I mainly like these things for the thrill of being scared. For myself, I really hope I can do well in this class even though I am not getting a grade, I am very serious in learning. I hope everyone is having a great day! At my home there is a storm going on at this moment, I hope it isn't going to be as bad as that last one...We all know what happened then. Well! どうぞよえおしく!じゃまったね!

7/7/11

Today in class we celebrated a sorta holiday which is about a story of these two stars which fall in love. We made origami, mine was of a lantern and we made wishes sticking them to the bamboo tree Yuki Sensei creatures for us on the white board. The whole thing was cute if I say so myself. It is the final stretch and I am at my wits end really, more so I am doing my best to keep everything in my head and not let it slip. I didn't so very well on my presentation, but there is no helping with that really. What I must do is do well on this test! I believe this study group that the class is doing will be a big help, sense I have missed two days of important class! I am already planning that after the class I am going to practice my volcabulary everyday, little by little, and include proper sentences in order to retain everything. I am a bit of a slow learner, but I have learned so much in this one month of class, than the 4 to 5 years of self teaching I have done. Although when nervous everything seems to fly out of my mind, if I practice practice practice, just like with my drawing, I will become fluent in no time! Throughout the semester we have done so many projects, bonded, and laughed along with learning a language which each of us want to learn. Having common ground is always the best start, and we are all so different, and yet we've come together these last 5 weeks. I have learned how to talk about myself, and introduce my name, major, school, age, grade, and say greetings within the first week of school! Than we learned of volcabulary, and how romanji isn't really the best way to learn, but it help when just starting. We just need to remember that in Hiragana it is spelled differently. Like Sensee is せんせい and etc. We than started to learn about the particles, I still am having troubles with this, but slowly and surly I am getting it down. Rereading the text book is helping me as well. の is not only for possessive, but also it is used to connect two nouns. Noun1 の Noun2. は is for (Is/Am) as well as making sure you know that the noun before it is the Topic/Subject. を is after an Object in the sentence. What the Subject is talking about. と is to connect objects and nouns, と is the aqivalent of And in Japanese. も is also, わたしもねこすきです。I've missed apparently some very intensive days with kanji and learning of Arimasu and imasu. Arimasu is for objects while Imasu is for people. Arimasu= There is/Are. Everything so far has been a big help, I am sadly suffering having things try and fly from my mind, but refreshing it helps. I hope I'll do well on the test...I'm going to study right before a nice long nights sleep! I can't afford to be sleepy tomorrow! じゃまったね!

7/6/11

Today in class we've learned of some new things, and as for me I have learned what everyone else has learned while I was gone, about です、でした。 Desu is for present while Deshita is for past (was). Also, Adjectives too have tenses the same as Ru and U, and Irregular verbs, but with different rules.

い Adjectives : +です、Xい +くありません、Xい +かったです、Xい +くありませんでした
な Adjectives : Xな +です、Xな +じゃありません、Xな +でした、Xな +じゃありませんでした
Irregular Adjectives: いい=よい いいです、よくありません、よかったです、よくありませんでした

As for the presentations I am not sure I know of exactly what everyone had said, but I shall do my best.

Ryan: His high school is Basscarde/ Where he goes to drink Sake(Alcohal)
Melody: Hudson is her home town.
Kat: In the super market there is a place where she drinks.
Maria: Lives in Middlefeild.
リヤンさんはこうこうバサカラデです。ドコにおさけです。
メロデのもしにフヅソンです。
マリアのもちにミデレフェイデです。
キャイトはスーパーでいますのみます。

Also, a helpful tip that Melodyさん gave helpful advice which I plan on using to my advantage. Write everything in Romaji and memorize it, and than remember the Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. It's the perfect plan! And now that I have some idea of what we were suppose to do with the presentation, it'll help me a lot! Though I need to stop adding things I haven't learned yet.
As for the presentation, it has certainly taught me to try my best to work with my grammar, sense everyone will see it as well as hear me say it as well. Trying to put all of the requirements in the slides is more of a task than I believed, but it helps me to think up more ways to make something into a sentence. I am still bad at grammar, so this is good practice for me I believe. Making us speak live and on the spot is what you do in real life, so it is very good for practical proposes.

7/5/11

In the middle of class which was when I have arrived, Yuki Sensei was teaching us some more Kanji and told us how it was that you read the characters in two different ways. The Chinese way and the Japanese way. We were taught the strokes and how to write the days of the week in Kanji. Learned new verbs and also how like verbs, Adjectives have different conjegations as well!! Such as いとな (I) and (Na) at the end of them. Last night I spent most of the time doing my power point, could not finish it but I had done my best to before finishing my workbook pages which were also for homework. While working on my own I've discovered about how to write adjectives as well as いますとあます。Though I was having trouble with finding the right volcabulary. I'm not so sure I have everything as together as I like, but I am doing the best I can.

I know that this is a late post, crazy stuff has been happening and such. But today I went was interviewed by a live broadcasting and I did a bit of my introduction. I was too nervous and didn't do the complete intro, but they seemed to like me, and the broadcasting is through the internet and many wished to be my friend when I come to Japan. it felt nice, and I used whatever Japanese I did say correctly. I will be studying my Kanji, although I do not know how I will do the powerpoint and any other homework I owe. Also I got everyone a gift! ありがとございます!!Thank you for letting me come to AX Yuki Sensei!!

6/30/11

Today was the long long day of waiting in line to get tickets. I'm very glad I decided to go early. After a long while and finally finishing everything with my cosplay, I've realized and read that the class has learned quite a bit. About negatives such as ません as well as how to talk about things in your own or others rooms. That I will try my best to get, but I am not sure it'll be right.

わたしのへやにえんぴすがあします。
バザのへやにかばんがあします。
わたしのへやにほんだながあします。
バザのへやにまんががあします。
みずがのへやにあします。

アンターニーさんおのへやにテリビがあします。
ベンさんのへやにでんわがあします。

I am getting very very tired now, have been awake sense 8 am すいようびにです。I shall be doing the Kanji and I have read over page 79 to 80 in the text book. I am gonna look over the Kanji later in. おいやすみなさい!

I Will redo this if it is unclear, just message me^^

My my, has today been a very interesting day. We've gone over our hiragana/katakana, and I might say that I've finally memorized all of them!! Also, we've had our test, I feel a bit stupid because one of the Ru verbs I got wrong, I had gotten it right the first time, but I second guessed myself and I think I've rewritten it wrong...Neru, but I knew at first that it was ねます、ねません、ねました、ねませんでした。But everything else I am confident that I didn't fail completely! I am getting my sentences better with the particles and such. Today I've noticed how hard it is now becoming to speak in English...My mouth doesn't want to form R and C words, or F words either. I end up rolling my tongue and it sounds wrong to me, like I'm foreign....I'm taking it as a sign that my muscles are now adapting to speaking Japanese.

As for the Voki, I am uploading that soon, despite my frustration with myself mostly on this, and having a terrible time finding WiFi in these Airports, I think that Voki is a very good way in teaching us. There is a specific amount of time you only have to record, so you have to move your mouth fast as well as pronounce everything properly. After this I am going to be looking in a mirror, as Yuki Sensei has said, talking and looking in the mirror, no matter how weird it may look to others, it'll help. Another good thing about Voki is just how fun it is, it isn't something that I am used to, nor is Audacity, which I failed to use and now am using my phone to record. I feel bad that I've taken so long in posting this blog, but my perfectionism is showing as I have recorded over 20 times, I Really want this to be perfect. I haven't looked into the other features yet, but mostly the making us speak clearly and at a faster pace makes it better. It trains our mouths and brains to think and speak faster than what we are used to. Thankfully I've found out that I do have the ability to speak properly, but I need more practice, which is why I am going to continue to record until I get it right! It will be Very noisy background. I will most likely have to do it again, but to get it in on time I will have to make due, construction is happening in the airport where I happen to be able to have my service and power the computer. This assignment might be one of the most brilliant, at least in making me realize my mistakes right away, even when reading it in front of me when I say something wrong I know it is gramarly incorrect. Finally after 5 hours of hard practicing I had finished it!!! Yay!! It might have had to do with me refusing to go to the bathroom or take a drink, but still!! Yay!! Though some guy is talking in the background, I will redo it if it is unclear. I now feel refreshed and very accomplished, I set out to finish and no matter what I continued, even if I got a little ster crazy at the end, lol. What I like most with this voki is most likely a personal thing, but I think what is best is how it made me do it over and over and over again. No matter how mad I got, I wished to finish it, and in doing so, I kept at it and I think I can speak faster now!

I've finally gotten a post from a student in Japan! Megumi Yonemoto-san was very polite and had said that she understood my Japanese which is good! She's wonderful at English, better than me I bet.

Now I shall go to my hotel, I refused to leave until I finished, I won't be getting any sleep today, but I'll have all night tonight! I shall be watching over to see what we have for homework きょう!じゃまったね!

6/28/11

Today in class we've learned a lot, mostly about the particles and how to use them, what to use them with, as well as some basic grammer. As for me, I have the problem where, I need to know my English grammer, in order to properly do Japanese grammer. I've talked with my mom today, and I think I am slowly getting with, along with the help of Yuki Sensei.

は: Subject of the sentence, main importance, what it is about.
は: The Topic sentence, what the person speaking is talking about.
に: To the Destination, you are Moving/Going to destination.
に: Time, when talking about a specific time, date, or weekday, NOT Evening/today etc.
を: OBJECT! What the sentence is Talking about, Japanese is What/It.
で: Place, but Only for when you are AT that place, In that place.
へ: The same as Ni for Destination, interchangeable.
と: AND. Cat And Dog. いぬとねこ。

Along with particles, we've learned some adverbs such as よく、ときどき、ぜんぜん/あまり
よく: Often
ときどき: Sometimes
ぜんぜん/あまり: Not at all/Not much

ようび:げつようび Mon、かようび Tue、すいようび Wed、もくようび Thurs、きんようびFri、どようび Sat、にちようび Sun。

げつようびにやさいをたべます。
かようびにコンピューターをします。
すいようびにテニスをします。
もくようびにわたしはにほんごをべんきょうします。
きんようびにくおちゃをのみます。
どようびにともだちのいえをきます。
にちようびにわたしはえいがをみます。

Also we've learned how to say the days of the week, and ask what we did on a certain day.
Ex: げつようびになにをしますか。

Tomorrow is the quiz, I'll be more confident with this one! I feel refreshed and such^^ Good nights sleep, and Everything works now in the house!! It was apparently a bad spot in the wire, but our neighbors had wires touching the ground. So it wasn't just our house. Things are looking up! I hope I won't miss....Too much in class もくようびときんようび。じゃまったね!

6/27/11

The question is : What did you do on Monday? What did I do on Monday, etc.
Answer: きょうだいがくでにほんごをべんきょうします。

Today I wasn't my best, but thankfully tonight I am getting a good nights sleep and also we found out that we shall have power by midnight tonight! Still I am staying at a hotel tonight, but oh well. Today in class was interesting as always, we are all starting to get a bit confused with the particles, at least I am, everyone else I think is doing fairly well. Though a very helpful tip Yuki Sensei gave us was that we don't need everything to be in a certain order. Just that each word needs it's certain particle when it is needed and the verb HAS TO BE LAST! For some reason I always thought it was subject, but no, verb. I get the rules for U and Ru verbs as well as Irregular verbs, just need to practice on them particles.

に is used for Home and Place as well as Time and Destination.
は(わ)is used for Subject and Topic. Yuki Sensei showed us this very cute video on it and it helped a lot I believe with me understanding Wa at least.
を is only for Object!
で is for Place as well like with Ni, except the Big difference is that for De, it is for when you are AT a place, not just discribing going there or something.
も is Also, like when you wish to include yourself, I Also like Japanese Culture.
が is another one which we haven't learned much about, but in the book I believe it is only used when you use dore.

We've reviewed our verbs in class along with all of the tenses, the rules aren't really that hard, it is just telling weather something is abnormal and or a normal Ru or U verb, or Irregular.

Well, today I am finishing up everything I need to do, at least with sewing and such, study like heck! And than get a GOOD nights sleep. Than hopefully I'll get out of this funk. じゃまったね!I am really starting to get used to typing in Japanese^^

6/24/11

Today when we got home we've discovered that maybe the fridge and freezer still work! Yay! Today seems to be a brighter day, as I've found out that I did indeed NOT fail my midterm, but get a B on it. After knowing that, the weight off my shoulders dropped and class was very enjoyable today. We've reviewed our Hiragana and Katakana, I was only missing ONE Katakana which was Hi. Though now I've discovered that I had gotten it, but I had written it where Se is at instead. ヒトセ look kinda alike, at least when written..Well, next time I will know!! Today in class we've covered a lot about verbs and how the Japanese don't have futures. Future tense that is, as they have Present Affirmative, Present Negative, Past Affirmative, and Past Negative for their tenses. It really is easy to understand, and while learning about them and how you write them, I've realized that I have reconized words which were just in a different tense.

Ex: For Ru-verbs なめるー take out Ru and just add ます for present affirmative. Add ません for present negative. Add ました for Past Affirmative, and finally ませんでした for Past Negative!

Ex: For U-Verbs you do what Yuki Sensei calls the Sushi roll. いくー You take the Ku and just go up in the alphabet line, before Ku is Ki, so it would become Ki and than add ます、ません、ました、ませんでした afterwards depending if it is Present Affirmative, present negative, past affirmative, and past negative.

Ex: For Irr- Verbs you do both the rule for Ru verbs and also U verbs. くるー roll the Ku and take out the Ru so it would become きます、きません、きました、きませんでした。

We than learned the days of the week which is pretty cute^^
Mon: げつようび
Tues かようび
Wed: すいようび
Thurs: もくようび
Fri: きんとうび
Sat: どようび
Sun: にちようび

This weekend I will be doing my homework, and Finishing my cosplay!! though Saturday I am going to my cusion's daughter's first birthday party, and Sunday Hopefully my mom's friend will know what is wrong with our house. Hopefully it is just some weird fluke and the pump!! じゃまったね!!

6/23/11

Uhhhhhh....I do not think I've done well on the test....I've looked over my flash cards and my study sheet and I just feel like smacking myself, I'm now back to being sick, gave myself a mental breakdown, and my mom and I have confirmed that as a worst case I've gotten a D. I am going to study my verbs, thankfully I understand Japanese verbs better than English, hell, I don't really know what our verbs are, or if I do, it's automaticly in my head and I don't know it up front. Though the upside, そら was very very cute today in class today. I'm really just being hard on myself, but I really Really, ほとに want to do well in this class!! I'll just have to study harder next time. I won't give up, even if I do cry. I've gotten farther in learning Japanese in this class than the four to 5 years of me self teaching. I am going to eat now, thankfully I no longer feel like throwing up. Hopefully tomorrow will be good, I am going to be making my flashcards for the verbs. じゃまったね!

6/22/11

Today everyone was relieved with the news of having an extra day to study for our midterm exam. I know I was, though I was confident, it helps the nerves. Tomorrow I am excited to get to meet Yuki Sensei's daughter, I am sure she will be very cute!! Now today, sense Yuki sensei was not ready for her babysitter to be having a baby, we ended up having class and learning some new words and many verbs which will broaden our speaking abilities! Though we are not expected to know them all as of yet, we are to have flash cards on them by Friday. There are three different types of verbs, U verbs, Ru verbs, and irregular verbs. Some rules make it a different case, but it mostly follows that concept. Also, we reviewed how to point and say if an object is what is being asked, or is not, as well as being specific. Today I believe I have mastered all of the Katakana, in the morning I am going to review it as well as the clerk greeting and greetings when entering home or leaving home. Other than that I am good, though still I shall refreshen myself! Today while out of class I was able to read Hiragana and know exactly what words they were! Though the context really wasn't that accurate, or it was and I was just confused as to why they had That and Why in the same sentence...Hmmm, I'm guessing a poem? I do not know, but what I do know is is that I am becoming more comfortable talking, such as when we went over a fake menu. Though I am watching myself and how I talk, I don't want to do the whole hump thing people in アメリカ tend to do with speaking high low high low. Today was fairly comfortable and helpful. Overall tomorrow i think I shall do well, *Crosses Fingers!!* おやすみなさい!

6/21/11

Today I felt really good in class, almost got all of the Katakana and Hiragana, soooo close to getting them both memorized! Though even if memorized I've realized that sometimes it would take me a while to registor in my brain which Hiragana belongs to which sound, and such. Though I am getting better with reaction time, it still takes me a while to write stuff out. The nice early bedtime has defintly helped me in my 24 hour cold I had. In class we learned the wonders of も!Mo = Also in にほんご. With a few practice sentenses to write down and such, the class was getting it and we went on to our shopping! I find that playing the Shopping Roleplay was a lot of help, acting out a real situation not only loosen the nerves that the students have, but also give us the ability to laugh even if we make a mistake. Although Japanese is very much fun, I myself tend to worry a lot when I get things wrong, or I am not remembering properly. Having the play experience lightens the mood and helps me at least, learn in a more visual standpoint, which for me is much easier. What I would like to learn is to know if something is out of stock, or even if you wish to buy many items at once, is the experience and words different? Most likely there wouldn't be problems at all with customer service, lol. Though it had taken us a while to actually finish, I am sure we all were more than ready to study study study, I know I was. Also, with this, I learned more about えん and also making change おつい. Something which I tend to still be a bit confused about, due to the 100, 1,000, and 10,000 えん I tend to convert it wrong in my head, I am getting used to it though. I am studying, although I think after a good nights sleep I'll be in tip top shape and hopefully I'll do well!! * crosses fingers* じゃまったね!!

6/20/11

こんいちは、だいじょぶですか。Today in class we've tested out both our Katakana and Hiragana, Allll most got it!! Though today my brain is just not feeling well at all, I did my best, like when we went over the homework, I actually didn't know that we had to add kono, sono, ano, well, I had forgotten, but I was able to read the item on the page and know almost all the prices which were asked of me. このとけいはさんぜんえんです。えっと、わたし forgotten the fact that the tiny っmeans enlongated concenent, also, I did not know that just typing (L) lowercase in Hiragana would make the tiny tsu, I've just discovered that. We've disgussed money and what the clerk says when you walk into a store, also Yuki sensei showed us a video of the annoying いってらしゃませ。It is true, they really do say it a million times, but it is only polite.

Clerk: いってらしゃませ。
Customer: このいくらですか。
Clerk: ごぜんえんです。
Customer: やすいですね!
Clerk: そですね。

Tomorrow we will be doing our actual store roleplay, I really enjoy this class and everyone in it, even though I felt like crap today I felt better being in class. We've even gotten to see actual Nihon en! As well as count our own fake en. Mine is いちまんにひゃくさんじゅうななえんです。So I have about 100 dollars? Did I convert that right? I'm not sure....Anyways, after this I am taking a nap, on my way home I started feeling really tired, after I wake up I will be finishing homework, and working in my cosplay. じゃまったね!

6/17/11

Whew, in class we finally made it through two of the three types of Japanese alphabets/characters!! やった!Now with learning katakana, it isn't as bad when knowing hiragana, it sorta helps out with the fact that we all now know the sounds to のほんご。Though the difficult part for me most is being able to tell the difference for the four characters which look so much alike to アメリカじん。And that is シとソとンとツ, with typing I can tell the difference, it is just with my own writing I cannot tell so well, and I know while writing fast everything can be all weird and than it'll become dechiperable to me. Today we've started to learn how to actually Ask questions instead of just being able to answer to them. Such as asking for the date or time as well as for someone's name. おなまえわな。Onamae wa(ha) as a simple way, but also a polite way of asking for someone's name. Along with new words which are for pointing out an object or person, but this time for something more specific. このとそのとあのとどの、Dono and dore meaning "Which", everything with no at the end are for specific items you are asking about, which goes into our lesson about money and how to ask and answer about what something costs. Next class we are going to be making our own store! すごい!!A question for asking how much is something is このとけえはいくらですか。How much is this watch? Answer: このとけえはいちぜんえんです。Also with relieveing news, we found out that every word for Japanese is either Hiragana, Katakana, or Kanji, they do not mix these in words. Anyways, I am doing my best to study, reading the text book has helped and writing down repeating the volcabulary as well. Thankfully there are a few more days left as i had gotten a bit sick over the weekend... I'm sensitive to heat even though I love it so....じゃまったね!

6/16/11

こんばんわ。Whew, I am glad that I have power, the other night the power suddenly went out all night and thus had no internet. Today in class it was certainly gave my brain a workout. We reviewed our Hiragana, which everyone in the class is doing well on, I'm not to sure what I might do when trying to learn Katakana as we have learned up to the row T today. Tomorrow Yuki sensei says we will finished them all tomorrow, こわい!!I might just be worrying myself, but still. As of today we've learned more about how to ask questions, more so being able to ask them ourselves instead of just answering them. Ex. なんじなんにちですか。That is asking the full date. 日本語 has easy concept, and they have random rules just like in English, which just means we have to stick to memorizing them! Also with learning あれとそれとこれ、we've learned どれ which means (Which), such as Which One? Along with the list there is が which follows after どれ just like with は there is が。The first thing we had done in class was listen to everyone's family despcription videos ( I still think everyone sounds better speaking Japanese than I do) but still, it was a good lesson and I've learned that I need to speak more flat with my Japanese. I was obviously trying to be too slow and clear with it, lol. I've listened to everyone else's vids and hopefully I've gotten my comments right!! *fingers crossed* I am just about done with homework, reviewing じゃありません to answering a question in a negative form, to learning the second alphabet Katakana!! The alphabet for foreign words!! Even French as well, I've talked with my mom about that and she told me that in the olden days you spoke French for foreign work/relations/market, as Yuki Sensei spoke about melon cake....Hmmm, I don't think I've ever had that before...I should try it sometime...After I finished studying my Katakana~ じゃまったね!!

6/15/11 part 2!

こんいちは!!Today in class we've gone over, typed, spoken and redone our greetings and despcriptions! It had taken up the whole class, but than again I am a bit bad at working PC's due to my having Mac. Though after having Yuki sensei go over all of my grammer and such I feel a bit better with everything. Though I still have troubles with telling when I am suppose to put wa(ha) or no in the sentence. With speaking I find it easier to read the Hiragana in Romaji, though I need to reconize my Hiragana quicker. Once I do that, I know my speaking will become better. Though I need to exercise and practice my tongue with speaking Japanese.

1) With photo story it was a big help with exercising all the methods of learning a new language. Using pictures to connect with our brain, as well as typing and speaking Japanese onto the slides. With speaking into the mic, it played back what you said as you were saying it, which helped me realize when I had made a mistake with my speaking and pernounciation. Enabling me to restart with just that section, instead of doing it all over again. I've also realized I do not sound at ALL Japanese, I should practice my accent after I've learned more with my pernounciation.

2) With speaking Japanese, I've realized how different it is than thinking it inside of your head. Forming the words with your mouth is far more difficult, and for me I need to speak a bit faster, I feel I am saying everything too slow and not fluid like. Although with that I must study more with proper grammer in order to speak properly. Like I've said in my reflection, I must learn to reconize the Hiragana faster in order to read/speak faster. I can tell it'll get harder as we go on, I only hope that by the end of this class it'll become easier, or semi easier.

6/14/11

Today in class we've reviewed our hiragana, when suddenly Yuki sensei wanted us to write out our birthdays when we hadn't even known how to say the months or days. Not to mention learning the days is actually kinda difficult. Though it was a good laugh and we suddenly started going onto learning more about grammer. Yuki sensei telling us to forget all that we learned just than about birthday. We learned about This, What, and That : これ、なん/なに、それ as well as Over there, or more so, the object which is at a distance from yourself, Are, not are as in what are you doing, but A Re : あれ。 Also we reviewed Wa, No, and To, singing the Head Shoulders Knees and Toes song in Japanese. Still, I need to review in the book a bit more on grammer, I've always been bad at grammer so it's no surprise to me that I am getting this all confused. But hopefully, I am confident that I'll get it soon. Practicing how to say something is what it is, as well as the negative to it, that the object is not what said person asked about it. Ex: これわみずですか。いいえみずわじゃありません、ねこです。Is this water? No, that is a cat. Also what i have learned is about how with sore you say it when you cannot touch the object, but it is not far away. While you say kore when you are able to touch it, it is at reach of you. When talking about something far away, you asked with Are, and you can answer with either Are or Sore, but never Kore. Than after this useful lesson we've learned about how to say the days of the month along with がつ which means months. Let me tell you now, I will be confusing the days of the month for a while, though some are easy, the first 10 are quite weird to day, along with some with 20 and over. Even Yuki sensei thinks it's weird, along with the AC which said seeeeeeeeeeeeee. It does that every class, I swear it's giving off small amounts of Something into the air...I don't trust that negative Japanese air conditioner!! Lol. After learning all of the days and months Yuki sensei told us how we will be doing a special project which involves talking to someone from japan! Introducing ourselves and greeting them along with telling discriptions of our families....Two of them are gonna be my cats, but ahhh well. I will be practicing like hell tonight! I wish to make a good impression. I must sleep early tonight, today I've been way too tired. Never let your mom do someone else homework when said person is in collage and is not even their child!! It never ends good. I shall be taking a nap now, than talking a walk, after that I'll be studying away!! Wish me luck! じゃまったね!!

6/13/11

The picture above was drawn/colored by me, Maria Vaza-Kaczynski Sense we skipped spring this year in Ohio, lol^^

こんいちは!Today in class I've learned lots and had gotten きゅうじゅうはち% on my quiz! 98% ヤった!!Also we've been learning numbers as well as how to tell time. Sense Japanese have like a million different counting systems it is good of Yuki sensai to be teaching us the basics. We are still reviewing our Hiragana as well as now writing and reading in said hiragana! It's amazing! Only 6 days of class and I can already semi read a Japanese sentence! For me that is amazing at least, for I have always been bad at grammer in English. Along with teaching us to write and read along with speaking Hiragana, our sensai had us correct errors in Hiragana as well. Teaching us simple sentence structure as well as making us use our brains to actually retain the information and not just memorize what it looks like. I find this to be a very smart move as it has helped a lot! While listening to my Gekai CD I understand more words than before, as well as reconize Senmon(せんもん)which means major in Japanese. Another useful thing we've learned is how to say that something is wrong. For example, if I asked if my cat is a dog, (ねこ)いぬはですか?To correct me for my mistake the person I would ask would say, いいえ、いぬはじゃありません、ねこです。We've also learned about writing jobs and our families discriptions in Hiragana.
